Stolen music equipment

While on a tour in  Europe this past October I was flying to Lisbon and I put my suitcase into the overhead compartment.

When we landed in Lisbon I got off the plane and immediately remembered that my bag was still in the overhead. I ran to the ground crew and I told them that my bag was still on the plane and asked if I could go get it. They told me that it was against the law for me to go back out to the tarmac and that I would have to wait at the lost and found because people were still de-boarding the plane.

An hour and a half later a person working for Ryanair came to me and   said that there was nothing on the plane except a wallet but they would be right back with more information. After another 45 minutes they came back and said they didn't actually check the plane and that the bag was probably still on the plane which had already left to go back to Berlin. 

I tried to call the Berlin airport to see if the bag had been turned in but there was no one answering for 2 days. I was freaking out at this point and bought a ticket back to Berlin to see if it was turned in at the Berlin airport. It wasnt...

The only thing anyone has said at the airports is that it is Ryanair's responsibility and Ryanair said they have no responsibility. I think that it was stolen by the ground crew in Lisbon but I have no proof and have now exhausted all options in getting it returned to me.


The contents of the bag were:

1 x MPC live
1 x Keystep
1x Harddrive (containing heaps of unfinished ableton projects and also tracks almost ready for release)
1x Macbook charger

The MPC is still currently being financed so I cannot even buy new gear before paying off this one that was stolen.

Total estimate of things lost: 

$2200

If I was able to recover some of the costs I will be able to continue to plan my live tour for 2019. If not i will have to postpone a lot of shows in the coming months.
