In 2016, Jamaican-born singer, songwriter and chef extraordinaire,  Suzanne Couch,  was diagnosed with metastatic cancer in the spine which threatened to leave her paralyzed.  Emergency surgery was performed and the surgeon’s prognosis for survival then was between 3 to 12 months.  Subsequent to this, a lump detected earlier on proved to be an aggressive, triple negative inflammatory breast cancer.

Since then, she relentlessly continues to exude a level of bravado, courage, grace and insurmountable strength that has touched the lives of thousands,  all the while undergoing intense treatments of chemotherapy and radiation.

In June 2018, despite being in excruciating pain and because of her generosity and selflessness, she played an integral role in a successful charity event for the Hope Institute of Jamaica, where she has received treatment. Suzanne showed up FULLY for her fans, family and friends.    Established in 1993, the Institute’s mission is to provide free cancer treatment.

Combining two of her winning passions – music and food – Suzanne, alongside her daughter Sarah and her Big Band that includes her devoted and loving husband Peter, contributed to raising over $500,000 plus further donations of over $1,000,000 since then.

World-renowned Joss Stone and legendary, award-winning Toots Hibbert generously gave further musical input and support.

Deeply committed to the progress of Jamaica, her generous support in the field of music, entertainment and the culinary arts spans decades and speaks volumes.  Throughout, she has contributed to various feeding initiatives across the island.  Check out her latest collaboration with daughter Sarah Couch called ‘ChewnIn’ on YouTube.

Suzanne and her community need your help.  Now at the stage where there are no further medical options available to her in Jamaica, she is now in Mexico to receive treatment from Clinica CIPAG.  Initial treatment costs will be well over USD 25,000.00.

Our intended goal is to raise USD 100,000.00 to support Suzanne’s treatment.  We invite you to pay it forward – GIVE lovingly – no amount is too big or too small.

In the words of Margaret Mead:

‘Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world; indeed, it's the  only thing that ever has.’

The ripple of your contribution will be felt throughout the music and food of Jamaica and beyond.

We are deeply grateful for your willingness to give in the knowing that as we give, so too do we receive.
