Survival after Fire

On April 17th at approximately 7:00 pm,  as Terry was cooking dinner,  he saw smoke billowing from our brooder, the building in which  we
house our baby chicks.  We raced up to the building and he managed to  the contain the fire to two bays. The fire was caused by a box fan which
shorted out. The building is basically functional and we can repair it but the smoke asphyxiated approximately 4,500 chicks which are our
primary source of income. We will not have any birds to sell for 5
weeks in May and June.

We are trying to raise money to allow our little farm to survive-again. It has been almost two years since a disastrous storm forced us to come
hat in hand and ask for help.  We are more a little embarrassed to turn
to you, our community. We had just begun to dig our way out of
the debt we incurred and there are expenses that I can put on back the credit card but we can't use it for salaries or feed and a number of
other expenses. We will have a small additional income from the processing we do for other farmers and we   have explained to all the good
people that work here that we will have to drastically cut hours and
that we understand totally if they have to find other work.

After running the numbers for hours (or at least it seems that way), we believe that we can cover the cost of feed and salaries for about
$10,000.  I've considered alternate solutions and will be exploring as
many of those that I can but Terry is adamantly opposed to bank
robbery and at 63, I don't think selling my body is really a viable option. If you can help and would like to, please do. If you can't and I fully
