Surgery Sucks- Rally for Katie!!
Donation protected
My sister Katie needs people to rally behind her again! Katie is a single mother of 3 boys who was diagnosed with stage three breast cancer in the Spring of 2015. Since then, she has gone through full radiation and chemo, along with a double mastectomy and a full hysterectomy in late August 2016. This year has been financially difficult for her since she has been unable to work consistently through the surgeries and treatments. She has one more big surgery to undergo in December which will put her out of work for yet another 12 weeks. Her latest surgery in August put her out of commission for nine weeks and she will not be physically able to work as much in between these times.
Due to our state's policies, Katie does not qualify to get the financial aid needed to live on. This means no disability for the entire time she has been unable to work. If we all pitch in—even a little bit of money—it would help her get through the holiday season and be able to put food on the table for her and her three boys. This will also help her to pay some of her day-to-day bills.
Throughout all of this Katie has continued to be strong, but even the strong need a little help sometimes. Spread the word and share with friends to embrace kindness, empathy, and helping others in their time of need. Also, know your kindness so far hasn't gone unnoticed—it takes a village.
We love you Katie, and you've got this!
Sincerely,
Betsy Hansen
