Eugene's Fund - surgery for Eugene

$505 of $5,000 goal

Raised by 8 people in 3 months
Created July 11, 2018
Help us raise needed funding to provide  surgery for Eugene, a horse at our sanctuary. The surgery will remove a bone fragment from his hock. Your support ensures that Eugene will have a bright future as a riding  horse and greatly increases his chances of finding his forever home.

Eugene was orphaned at only a few days old when his mother died from foaling complications. Life with his surrogate mother was looking brighter until he was a year old and his original owners
noticed lameness. When his owners decided they could not invest in his bone chip surgery, Redwings rescued him from being euthanized.

Eugene is an easy-going Chestnut Thoroughbred with a sweet disposition. Once Eugene is fully recovered from surgery, he will be available through our Foster-to-Adopt program.

Thank you for supporting our mission to rescue abused and neglected horses, and for helping us give Eugene a second chance!

We are so grateful to all of you who have given toward Eugene’s surgery! We are pleased to announce that through Go Fund Me, our website, and checks in the mail, we have raised a total of $1,505 total in the past two weeks since launching our fundraiser. This sweet boy was being playful at the sanctuary today when we snapped these pictures, and he loves his herd mates Fire Fly, Patrick, and Cyclone. Thank you for getting us that much closer to covering the cost of his surgery.
