Surgery for Babie

Donation protected
This is Babie, our two year old Frenchton puppy. As many of you know, before our beautiful  son was born this past summer, she and her sister Lady were the first additions to the happy little family Frank and I began.

Roughly this time last year, Babie took a tumble while playing with another dog. Soon after, Frank and I began to notice small changes in Babie's ability to keep up with her sister Lady.  Once an incredible companion to our newborn son Frankie, Babie was now no longer able to pace the halls outside his nursery. She struggled to climb on and off the couch to check on him, nor was she able to chase her sister around the yard, or even jump to catch her toys and treats.

Our concern increased dramatically after a trip to the veterinarian last fall, when she was misdiagnosed with meningitis. We brought her home, and provided recommended treatment in addition to researching natural and homeopathic remedies to supplement her treatment and encourage her recovery. It was through this research that we began to doubt her diagnosis.

The symptoms  she showed lined up with those of a slipped spinal disc, and pinched nerve. We returned to the vet with our suspicions and were told we were wrong, and to continue her regimen of medications, physical therapy, etc.

When Babie essentially lost the ability to walk this past month, we took her for another veterinarian for a third opinion. At this point, Babie suffers from muscle spasms that render her unable to maintain her balance, or support her own body weight. She can barely lift her head from the couch, and now simply follows the sound of baby Frankie's voice around with her eyes.

This afternoon, we brought Babie to see a neurologist, who confirmed our suspicions: Babie suffers from a slipped disc with a severely pinched nerve. The neurologist immediately had our precious girl admitted for emergency surgery to repair. This process will cost a minimum of $7, 000, although it is likely to total closer to $8, 500 after all is said and done.

We would bleed our own blood for our girl  if it meant that nothing would hurt her anymore; Babie is nothing short of family. The unconditional love that we share with her is irreplaceable, and we will do whatever we can to ensure that she is able to continue to grow the same bond she has with our son.

Please, please consider making a donation towards her surgical bill. Every contribution makes more of a difference than you will ever know! We just want Babie to recover fully, so that she can return home to her sister Lady, and her human Baby Frankie ❤️
