Jeanne Clive - House Fire

$4,155 of $8,000 goal

Raised by 53 people in 4 months
My next-door neighbour, Jeanne Clive's, home caught fire today while she was only away from the home for a short time. I called 9-1-1 after seeing smoke billowing out of her windows. Her three dogs were inside.

Firefighters brought out the first two dogs and began working on them immediately. The third dog took much longer to find, but she was found, alive. All three were taken to the animal hospital. The first two are thankfully stable and off oxygen now. Unfortunately, since the third dog had sustained greater injuries than the other two, she passed away.

Vet bills are already at $5000 on day one, and the remaining two dogs will require ongoing care to recover. Although the house is insured, the veterinary expenses are not covered.

It would mean the world to me and to my amazing community-minded neighbour Jeanne if our community could pull together to support them during this tragic time.   I understand that the vet bills could hit upwards of $8

,000. I've set that as our goal for the GoFundMe.  Jeanne has lost so much in this fire, and  thankfully thus far, two of her precious fur babies are still alive. We will be grateful for any/all support in any amount.

The girls are home!!! A note from Jeanne written on Thursday afternoon:

"Molly and Ruby Roo are holding their own. We got them to the farm this afternoon along with their medication. Ruby Roo is very tired, has the most medication and at the moment is snoozing on the deck. We are to monitor them over the next 2 weeks. They both were suffering severe smoke inhalation.

Thanks to the quick actions of the Regina Fire Department who provided oxygen therapy on site plus the continuing therapy of the Regina Humane Society on the way to the 24 Hour Vet Clinic the Girls have responded reasonably well to the excellent care that they have received considering what they have gone through."

We again continue to thank all of you for your generous donations! Today I (Sherry) was able to send the money raised so far to Jeanne to help pay off the vet bills. We appreciate the ongoing support!

Stay tuned for further updates and thanks again for the ongoing support for the Girls and Jeanne!

Thank you SO much to all those who have contributed thus far. Please feel free to share the link for this page with your friends, to help us reach our goal!

As you know, financial support is only one of the many ways that we can support Jeanne and her (fur-)family through this time. I realize that not everyone is able to contribute financially, so just know that your thoughts and words of support are also valuable contributions!!
