Supporting the Beelek’s

After several weeks of not feeling well, Murphy Beelek has been diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia. Murphy is currently serving in the US Navy and has been for 18 years. He and his family are currently stationed in Spain. Murphy was med flighted out to Walter Reed in DC within just a few days and has already started an in patient 16 week chemotherapy treatment. 

Murphy is the father of 5 wonderful kids; Seth- almost 16 and Kai- 12 who both live in Virginia with their mother. Isabelle- 8, Ethan- 3, and Amelia-1 who are currently waiting for orders to get back to the states with their mother and Murphy’s wife, Kim so they can be by his side. All of them had their world rocked by this unexpected diagnosis and will have to adjust to a new normal very quickly. 

I know the military will help cover things financially for the family when it comes to medical and housing but there is a lot more to take into consideration during this time. Kim and the kids will have to eat out for most meals while staying in a hotel for the next two months or so (at the minimum). She will have to pay for childcare for the younger three on many occasions so that she can be with her husband, which we all know is not a cheap cost. They will also have to rent a car for two months or so until their family SUV can be shipped from Spain back to the states. All of these financial burdens should be the last of their worries during this time.
