My name is Olivia,
I am doing a 10 mile run on the 1st of September to try and rasie money for the charity called Refuge. This is a domestic violence charity. Refuge supports more than 4,600 women, children and men on any given day* through a range of services, including refuges, independent advocacy, community outreach and culturally specific services. Two women a week are killed by a current or former partner every week in England and Wales – leaving two families every week bereaved due to domestic violence. Refuge supports families who have lost a loved one to domestic violence. ( I know the fact is about women but they also support men and children)
In 2012 my sister was taken from me and many others by her former partner suddenly and has made a huge impact on many people's lives. He was only given 19 years for the blatant attack, which is never enough. If there is any chance of helping somone suffering from donestic abuse i am going to help them any way possible . so much more could have and should have been done for my sister, i would hate it to happen to anyone else.
I have wanted to do fund raising for this charity for a long time as it is close to me. I am doing the run on the 1st of September as i am planning to do other fund raising events for this charity. please sponsor me to do this as it means a lot to me.
