Support Chanzie

Chanzie Roettig has been travelling the world with Steve Sayer over the past few years, spreading their love of Collegiate Shag and LA style Lindy hop. As a result of their mission, they are admired and loved around the world for their energy, their dedication, and their love of dance.

On a flight to Athens last week, Chanzie hurt her ears very badly, bursting an eardrum. Doctors advised her not to fly, so she found herself stranded in Greece, in a lot of pain, with her travel plans disrupted and her health uncertain. The good news is that she has now had surgery, and the doctors have said she can fly home!

Chanzie stands to lose a considerable amount of money through no fault of her own. Not only has she had to bear the cost of surgery and buying last minute flights, she has lost income by missing gigs.

So here is my idea: We raise money to soften the impact of these costs. Dancing is a tough profession, and people like Chanzie are in it for the love, not the money. If every dancer who once had a class with Chanzie gave just a few dollars I'm pretty sure we could help her a lot!
