Greetings Family, Friends and Beloved Community,
Our son TJ is traveling to South Africa with a group of students, mentors and teachers. We need to raise $3500.00 for him to take this trip. Funds will be used to cover transportation, lodging, food and travel expenses.
About TJ:
He is an honor roll scholar and leader. His interest is in computer engineering and last summer he held a highly competitive Intel summer internship. He is also debater (he recently won Oakland 1st prize and Regional 3rd debate tournament prize), a graphic artist, an athlete, a musician (he plays bass guitar) and he is a Healthy Black Families' Youth Water Ambassador. He has a great dedication to the self-determination, health and well being of his community. He is an avid reader, a writer, photographer and videographer.
We know that trips like this can be life changing and will broaden his world view. Community support is needed to make this trip possible for him. He could be thinking about anything else, but he wants to travel, learn about his historical culture and legacy. This trip will expand his outlook on the world as he evolves into a community leader.
Through your gracious generosity, we have already raised over 1,400.00. We still need to raise $2,100.00 in one week! Please spread the word on social media, email, text, tweet, post.
