Support the Takacs' in their fight with ALS

After a long journey of unanswered questions, ill health and comprehensive medical testing, our good friend, Steve Takacs, received news of his official diagnosis- Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS), also known as Lou Gehrig's Disease.  ALS causes the death of neurons that control voluntary muscles.  This diagnosis will require immediate and intensive treatment.

Steve and his lovely wife, Maria have always been a beautiful example of  couple living in faith, trusting in God and believing in the innate goodness of people.  Together, they have three beautiful children, Maggie (Kevin), Steven and Danny.  They eagerly anticipate their arrival of their first ontinuous emotional and physical adaptations required to meet his ongoing, daily challenges.  The family is united in Christ and their resolve in helping Steve through this unimaginable trial knows no bounds.  The Takacs family will glorify God throughout this very difficult time in their lives.  Steve and Maria have faced other arduous trials in life and their resolve in finding love and gratitude never ceases to amaze those who know them.  They serve as a cornerstone of faith to their community.

Steve and Maria have been married for 33 years.  Maria is an unfaltering proud wife and mother.  She started her career as a trauma nurse and then went on to manage Steve's practice, Newbury Family Practice in Newbury, Ohio.  Steve lovingly served his community as a family practice physician for over 30 years. Together they have been committed to serving their family and community with dedication and a genuine interest in bettering the lives of others.

Those fortunate enough to have been touched by Steve personally or professionally, know the magnitude of love and guidance this kind man has offered.  Steve is a pillar of our community and has touched and saved countless lives through his love, professionalism and compassion.

A diagnosis of ALS takes a crippling and emotional toll on both the patient and the family who must care for him.  It is our hope that together we can help relieve some of the Takacs family's enormous financial burden to help them through this frightening and unchartered waters.  Let us all come together to help them so that Steve can receive the quality care that he deserves and that his wife of 33 years can be by his side through this crisis.
