Support the Stauffer Family

On the 30th of July 2018 my brother in-law Jake had his first brain surgery after having severe headaches.   Previously after seeing the same doctor and getting nowhere, he changed doctors. An MRI found he had a brain lesion. In the weeks that followed the surgery, pathology results confirmed it was a rare form of grade 3 brain cancer. 4 weeks after Jake had brain surgery he began intense treatment of radiation and chemotherapy daily for 6 weeks. Jake then continued chemotherapy for 5 days a month for the next 8 months. Doctors gave him up to 2 years, but we all had our hearts set on at least 5 so he could make memories with his wife and babies. He survived only 11 months.

 

6 weeks ago a routine MRI found another brain tumour in a separate part of the brain. Things progressed too quickly and Jake passed away on 21st of July 2019, his son Nixon's 4th birthday. 4 days short of Jakes 30th Birthday.

Jake has the most beautiful, caring young family. Dedicated wife Tash, Son Nixon 4, and Daughter and Remi 2. Jake has not worked for the past 12 months. Tash had to get a job to try and support the family and care for Jake, only have to give it up recently as Jake needed more care. She never left his side and stuck to every promise they made each other in the end.

Anyone who met Jake knew he was a fun loving family man who would do anything to support his family, as they were everything to him. Even after being diagnosed, Jake and Tash used what spare money they could, when they could, to donate to other people’s much needed ‘Go fund me pages’.

11 months ago they were a young healthy family, and never thought in their worst nightmares that this would happen to them. Jakes sudden passing has left her with the grief no young family should ever have to go through, and also the worry of having to support her young family as a widow. They need our help.

To help alleviate the financial burden of paying medical bills and the mortgage as Tash grieves for the loss of her husband and caring for their 2 small children as they come to terms that Daddy’s not coming home, we are seeking donations from friends, family, colleagues and anyone who wishes to help a genuine, beautiful family get through this tough time. Any donation big or small will help this young family keep a roof over their head and be together to heal.
