The Front Porch Show is a community show providing entertainment during the summer and also a Christmas time special in St. Marys, Ontario.
We are the only thing like it in the area. We are a unique show that is performed in front of a live, lawn chair audience with host John Stevens and friends including co-host Don Van Galen, music host and piano man Frank St. Germain, local guests, musicians, artists, and community contributors. The hour-long show is produced by volunteers - the hosts, the producers, the floor director, the videographer, sound, lighting, set up, and those working behind the scenes to promote and enhance the show.
We also connect with our audiences that cannot attend the show by broadcasting it via Facebook LIVE to those at home, away or living in another country.
Our reach is vast and our audiences love us!
Our show has grown in popularity and during season 1 our audience grew from 30 people at the first show to 250 people at the Christmas special. That’s a huge increase! And we did it all with volunteers and no budget. We begged, we borrowed…but didn’t steal in order to produce our little magical show.
But as The Front Porch Show grows we also need to evolve. And that is where you can become part of the evolution.
As we enter into our 2nd season, we find ourselves in need of new equipment to accommodate the continued growth of our show. While the opportunity opens up exciting new doors, it comes with new costs as well.
We are asking for support during this time of transition in order to assist us with production costs to keep The Front Porch Show thriving in our community.
You can support us by using this GoFundMe platform to send us a donation of any size in order to ensure that we are able to keep our community show part of the arts and entertainment tapestry alive.
Here is our wish list: A new ipad (we currently borrow someone’s personal ipad); creating a budget for promotion and promotional material; lighting equipment (especially for our live Christmas special), and set design and construction.
