Support the Fike Family

Donation protected
My brother and his family need your help!  Jake was recently diagnosed with stage 1 (now changed to stage 3) colon cancer and has already had two surgeries this week.  He is the only income supporting their family of 6 and it's going to be a long road ahead for all of them during Jake's recovery over the next 5 or 6 months. The last thing we want is for them to worry about money!  If you feel like you can donate that would be awesome!

Thank you to all who have already reached out with support and prayers.  It means the world to our family!

You can see more of Jake's story below:

On July 26th Jake went to a specialist b.c he was having problems with a hemorrhoid.  So after having a colonoscopy they discovered 5 polyps. They removed them all and got them tested. They removed as much as they could with that procedure but needed surgery for the rest. On August 2nd Jake had a follow up appointment and the results from the colonoscopy. We found out he had stage 1 colon cancer. We scheduled a surgery date for October 1. Since Jake wasn't in any pain we went about our life and went to Lancaster. It was a hot day and Mady wanted her daddy to hold her most of the time. He woke up Monday, August 6th to leave for work but had problems bleeding the result of that landed Jake in the ER the next day (Tuesday)  August 7th. He lost about 1/3 of his blood, had low blood counts and was dehydrated. His dr moved his surgery date up to August 21. The morning of August 21 we got to the hospital at 5:45 in the morning and by 8 he was prepped and ready for surgery. The surgery lasted from 8-1:00. It took him to about 3:30 to finally be awake enough to be transferred to his room. He was recovering great and we had high hopes of getting out Thursday August 23. However during the night he spiked a fever. After running some tests and blood work he got a ct scan. We found out there was an abscess growing where the "hookup" was made. Also the pathology report came back 1 out if the 40 lymphnodes that they removed was cancerous. That takes him from a stage 1 cancer to a stage 3 which requires chemo. Since there was an abscess and a tiny leak he had to get a colostomy bag, which he needs to wear for 5-6 months until his bowels heal up.
