Support the Deer Lakes Drama Program

Drama at Deer Lakes is going strong! We have added a middle school show and would love to grow the program to include an elementary program as well. Drama not only allows students to perform, but it also aids in reading, problem-solving, and developing social skills.

Although the drama department involves more students than any organized sport, we do not receive funding from the Deer Lakes School District. Sets, rights to shows, props, makeup, and costumes require a great deal of funds which are paid for by the proceeds of shows, parent donations, or from the directors. We have raised over $10,000 for microphones in the past two years and will continue to fundraise throughout the upcoming school year. 

The first big expense with any show is purchasing the rights to perform it. This year, the rights alone will cost $9500.00!  
With three musicals planned for this year, we are looking forward to a great season, but we also need your help.

.... please consider helping our drama program raise some start-up funds for the 2019/2020 school year.  Potential expenses include: wood, paint, additional set building materials, backdrops (purchased or rented), makeup, costumes, props, microphone batteries, and much more. Many expenses must be paid for pre-show and we would appreciate your support. The students do an incredible job and it's an amazing activity to be involved in.
