Support the Biette's Mission Work in Fairbanks, AK

In the summer of 2018 we had a wonderful experience living in Fairbanks, AK while I (Jason) served the congregation of Covenant Reformed Church as their Interim Pastor.  It was a time of great blessing for us.  We made many new friends, experienced the beauty of God's creation, the uniqueness of Alaska, and the challenges of ministry.  I (Jason), after being out of the pastorate for almost five years, found refreshment and fulfillment in answering God's call.

The time was too short, and by the second week of August 2018 we found that we had to say goodbye to our new friends and family, and make our way back home to our responsibilities in Virginia.  We had known all summer that it would come to an end, but it was much harder saying goodbye, to the people, place and work than we could have ever imagined.

We were humbled and excited when, in October, I received a call from the congregation to come and shepherd them.  It was an invitation, not only to work, but an invitation to make our family a part of theirs (and vice versa).  Once again we had to deal with heartache, after almost two months of praying and considering, we decided we had to turn down the call.

Life went back to normal, so to speak, and then by January 2019 something funny started to happen.  God began providing, almost one after another, more and more reasons to reconsider the opportunity for ministry in Fairbanks.  It got to the point that Jessica and I were searching hard for reasons not to go.  It was as if God was saying, "Whatever you think you'll need, I will provide, so stop dragging your feet and get on with it."  I am reminded of Paul's testimony, "And my God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus."  (Phil. 4:19 ESV)  So, by the end of March, after much prayer, we decided that if they would still have us we would come.

HERE WE GO!

Alaska...One More Time

Covenant Reformed Church is a mission church, sponsored by Covenant Bible Church in Chugiak, Alaska.  There are several families, and a few individuals who make up the congregation.  Our goal is best summed up in three stages.  First, I will immediately, upon arrival, take over the shepherding role within the congregation, and begin ministering to these families and individuals as their pastor.   Second, over the course of time we will work to become a part of the community, reaching out to connect with local pastors, as well as ministering within the community through relationships and volunteering (rescue mission, hospital, prison, etc.).  Third, we will work and pray, pray and work to help the church become stable and self-sufficient in five years time.

We are receiving some support through the church and sponsor church, and I will be working part-time with an online job.  Our fundraising needs are to help cover the gaps that will still exist.  Upon arrival we will need to immediately secure some form of medical insurance for the family, and other needs will always be there (transportation, schooling, medicine, etc. etc.).  Life continues, even in the The Last Frontier.

Our Goal is to raise $50,000 over the course of the next 5 years, or $10,000 a year to help cover any gaps that we may incur along the way.  We are happy, and thankful to receive one time gifts and monthly support.  Those who are able to support us monthly will be put on a mailing list and begin receiving (September 2019) a newsletter which will include updates, teachings, devotionals, and sermons.

There are two ways to support us and the ministry.  First, you can donate here, on our GoFundMe campaign.  A second option, for tax purposes, would be to send a check to Covenant Bible Church.  Make the check payable to Covenant Bible Church, and please make sure to write 'Fairbanks' or 'FBKS' in the memo line.  You can mail the checks to:

Covenant Bible Church
P.O. Box 227
Palmer, AK 99645

All funds collected, both on GoFundMe, and checks mailed will be counted toward the campaign.

Finally, and most importantly, pray for us, pray for the congregation of Covenant reformed Church, and pray for the increase of His kingdom, in Fairbanks and beyond.
