Support Service Dog Training Center

$1,415 of $75,000 goal

Raised by 20 people in 3 months
I'm Molli with Molli Dogs Training ( www.mollidogs.com). I work hard to help disabled individuals get affordable, high quality service dogs by helping them owner-train their dogs. Unfortunately, my schedule is now so full that I'm booked out several months and I've had to stop accepting new clients and start a waiting list. This is incredibly frustrating. There are so many people who need my help and I'm unable to assist them. This is why I need your help!

Getting a facility will open up a lot of opportunities. I can take on more clients and bring in other trainers to assist with the work load. Later I can start a puppy raising program, and even launch a grant program to help some of my disabled clients cover training costs. I will also be bringing in other science-based trainers to offer workshops and training classes that will benefit not only my service dog clients, but the entire local dog community.

I'll need at least $75,000 for a down payment on the facility. In order to keep prices as low and affordable as possible for my disabled clients, I need help fundraising the costs. The more money I can raise, the bigger and better I can make this facility.

Your donation will help bring a higher standard of training to the local dog community, and most importantly, will help disabled individuals all over the Wasatch Front gain a better quality of life and greater independence through service dogs.

Because I've had some questions about it, here are a bit more details as to why a facility is necessary for me to be able to take on more clients:

First; as of right now, the way my business is set up, I travel to people to work with them in their homes or other designated locations. This means that a good deal of my time and energy each day is spent traveling. If I can have a facility where people will mostly be coming to me to work, I will cut out all of that travel time for me and be able to nearly double the number of people I can work with each week.

Second; some have wondered why I don't just hire someone? Well, hiring someone with my current business model means having to wade through some pretty irritating legalities such as special insurance and contracts in order for them to be going into private residences. Hiring someone to work out of a facility is relatively simple so I am holding off on officially hiring anyone until that happens. That will also definitely increase the number of people I can sign on to my program as well.

Lastly; Group classes are very difficult to do without a facility. Some are simply not even possible. Trying to work out of a location often means rent and other fees, contracts and many other things to deal with. After a lot of research it became very clear that because of all of this, renting space is just simply not a realistic option for what I'm wanting to do. Hence the reason for needing to purchase a facility over buying one.
Doing classes at a park is also difficult. You must have permission from the city and you are not supposed to take money from people on city property. When and how often you can have your classes is also entirely dependent on the weather. Being able to have my own facility to work in will provide a way to offer a large variety of training classes, both by me and other trainers, that are simply not an option right now.
