Support Serena's Fight Against Cancer
Donation protected
Hello friends and family of Serena:
As many of you know, Serena and her family have been through tremendous hardship over the past year. Serena's husband Robert has been recovering after his sudden brain infection in the fall of 2018 that continues to affect his speech and mobility. They were just starting to settle into their new life as a family back at home in Rhode Island, when Serena was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer. This diagnosis has come as a shock and is devastating news that has saddened all of her friends and family. Serena will be starting chemotherapy in the next few weeks. She will be undergoing 6 treatment cycles spaced 3 weeks apart. We have no doubt that she will fight through this, as her family has remained strong despite all the challenges already faced.
Understandably, this will be an extremely stressful time for Serena, emotionally, financially and physically. She is already exhausted and has not been able to take a break since Robert was initially admitted to the hospital last year. Through it all, she remained by his side through his surgeries, rehab stays and recovery. Now, she will need a support team by her side to help her battle this cancer. In the coming months, she will need to travel to multiple medical appointments, find time to care for her husband and 5 year old daughter, as well as keeping herself physically and emotionally healthy during her intensive chemotherapy.
If you can consider donating any amount or even your time to help Serena it would help her focus on her recovery. Your donation will help with childcare for Elisa, medical bills, and expenses for her family members, who are planning to travel back and forth between California and Rhode Island to be with Serena. Thank you so much in advance! Serena is extremely grateful for all the support everyone has already offered!
