As many of you know, Scotty Gordon is the one in the room who knows everything. In addition to his love of philosophy and encyclopedic knowledge of history and of The Beatles, Scotty also knows way too much about Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. With a diagnosis of Stage IV, he completed 6 months of chemotherapy in 2018 and was declared “cancer free.” He returned to the College of Wooster in Ohio to continue his studies and was able to walk with his class for graduation in May of 2019 – which was not easy, as his Hodgkins’s Lymphoma had relapsed. His best treatment option is to do an autologous stem cell transplant. It’s a fascinating and complex process that takes five months to complete. Scotty and his mother Caroline have traveled from their home in Ashland, Oregon to Cleveland Clinic in Ohio so Scotty can receive the very best care at the Taussig Cancer Center. They are living at Transplant House of Cleveland for their five months in Ohio and then will return home to Ashland, Oregon for a long recovery phase.
