DONATE now to stop Chris' deportation on Aug 5th

Donation protected
My uncle, an immigrant and a father, has been in Florida for over a decade now (pictured on the far right). He was arrested for a traffic fine on June 11th and has been kept in jail since then. He was received false criminal charges due to filing errors. He's being held in Flagler County Detention Facility for $30k bail. If we can’t pay this bail by August 5th, he’ll likely be deported. My uncle is the sole supporter of his three kids and wife, so please help us keep this family together.

*FYI: This fundraising goal is just an estimation, I will update it the correct amount once I get to Florida. Thank you so much for your support!*

My family are going through a legal crisis in Florida where we need donations to continue the battle.

I’m humbly asking if anyone could hear us out.

My uncle Chris was arrested for minor traffic fines. He was kept in jail overnight in a rural town in Florida. After the first court, my uncle was allegedly accused from drug possessions, assaults, and crimes from another state, causing the county jail to keep him longer. His family were forced to immediately get a criminal lawyer with little money.

However, the criminal lawyer discovered that these criminal charges were not on paper nor recorded and fought for a closer court date. We asked Chris on who told him these charges and apparently the judge told him. We are not sure if it was an act of intimidation or wrong paper-filing.

The family were also forced to find an immigrant lawyer. Due to lack of resources and misguided information, they were being lured by a law firm that were charging them $15,000 JUST to get him out with a “promise” of a green card.

The entire community got together to raise THAT amount. That money is many people’s rent, bills, gas, food, and owed. But the fact that they raised to that amount meant that my uncle was an honest man and a community pillar.

Thankfully, they did not sign a contract with the sketchy lawyer but rather a lawyer from South Florida- but the case still goes on.

Then, after his second court, after the family paid the traffic fines in full, it was expected that he will be released after two hours.

Instead, he was kept for 24 hours and released to ICE.

My uncle’s family consists of his wife and three kids. They all financially depend solely on my uncle. Our immediate family has been steadily helping them in food, comfort, and babysitting, but we struggle with money as well. Most of our families live paycheck to paycheck.

So, once again, we humbly ask for donations to continue to support my uncle and his family, to the community that gave when they shouldn’t have to, and to fight for my uncle’s release.

We ask to reach to the amount as this will be an indefinite fight and resources in Florida are scarce.
