About Matt and Mia
In February my friend Jo-Anne’s six-year-old granddaughter was diagnosed with Stage 4 neuroblastoma. For those of you who don’t know, neuroblastoma is a childhood cancer that forms in the nerve tissue around the adrenal gland, neck, chest, or spinal cord. For Mia, it started in her adrenal gland, but as is the case in stage 4 cancers, it has since spread.

Neither her father Matt or his family support system, like his mother Jo-Anne or his father Pat, live in the same city as Mia and her mother, or the hospital she is being treated in (Sick Kids in Toronto), which means he can’t see his beautiful girl as much as he, Mia, or her mother would like him to be able to.
What the Goal Is
The goal of this GoFundMe is to raise $2000.00. The funds raised from this page will be put towards the travel and transportation costs involved for Matt and his family to visit his daughter: gas, car insurance, parking, GO Train and subway fares, meals during the trip, and anything else that comes up. Mia's going to be in treatment for at least a year and a half, so these costs are going to be consistent for a long time.
If donations somehow exceed the goal, they'll be put towards toys, games, art supplies etc. to keep Mia entertained over the course of her treatment, treats and snacks for her - the things Matt wishes he could do for her, but can't in this
situation.
Please give generously. Matt would love to be able to spend more time with his little girl.
