Support Loray on her cancer journey

Loray, a long time member of our Nelson community, is in the middle of yet another healing journey with cancer. Having already cleared herself of cancer twice, she was recently given the devastating news that it had returned in her pelvic bones. Since then, the cancer has been growing aggressively causing extreme pain, making even standing to prepare meals difficult. Loray has just undergone a series of radiation treatments, and is now back home with her son. With the cancer showing signs of aggressive growth, it is critical that Loray can explore every avenue to support her body in healing and clearing itself of this cancer. Having just undergone my own cancer journey I know how time consuming and expensive this process is, and this is where we, her community can step in to make sure she receive all that she needs to get well.
Loray is a single mother, raising her teenage son with no outside help. She has been forced to stop working due to the chronic pain caused by the cancer. What she really needs now is to rest, nourish her body with good food and complementary treatments that can support the allopathic treatments and mitigate their side effects, and perhaps most importantly, Loray needs to be able to let go of all extraneous stressors in order that she has the best opportunity to heal her body.
As a Mother, a major concern for Loray is that her illness should impact her son as little as possible. Lucas, now 16, is a budding musician, aiming for a career as a clarinet player in a symphony orchestra. He was due to take part in a musicians camp in the U.S. this summer to progress his career ambitions - unfortunately part of his promised sponsorship money has just been withdrawn, and with Loray too ill to work he has no way of raising the necessary funds in time for the camp. That her illness should impact the opportunities available for her son is yet another heartbreaking worry for Loray.
So, we are aiming to raise funds to take the stress off Loray, support her in receiving the medical treatments she needs to finally beat this cancer, and to help her support her son in continuing to pursue his dreams.
