Life, our health and love is precious, friends.  Sometimes in the blink of an eye,  we can suddenly find ourselves in the hospital being told scary words like "malignant tumors" and "hysterectomy" when just the day before we thought we were healthy, and such words were not even on our radar. This stuff is scary as hell and became a reality last week to one of the most beautiful humans that I know, Kris Schaefer. Friday night Kris thought she just has some unusual pain and couldn't pee, and then the next day she found herself being checked in the ER at St. Mary's and being told that, "chemo isn't so bad these days, you can do it at home now."  Not a conversation anyone wants to casually have. From chillin' on a Friday night to contemplating cancer treatment on Saturday, October 13.  Not easy or fun or comprehensible stuff.

Kris ended up staying for 5 days in the hospital which led to finding out that she had a type of cancer called endometrioid carcinoma of the ovaries.  This cancer was centralized on the outside of her ovaries and the latest news is that they were able to remove it all with a hysterectomy that was performed earlier this week.  Kris is still awaiting confirmation that indeed all of the cancer was successfully removed, we will have more information later this week.

Kris will not be able to work for 6 weeks and then after then on only a handful of clients. As a self employed person, not being able to work means not being able to pay one's bills, not to mention that Kris and her husband the rad Jeff Rogers still await the hospital and medical expenses.

Kris has been a body worker for 31 years and it's likely that if you are reading this that you know of her magic and LOVE and expertise with her craft and skill.  She has held thousands of clients over her 3 decades of service in Chicago and Tucson, and I personally know that Tucson is so much more beautiful because of all of the love that Kris has poured into our community,

Please take a moment to support our beloved our local Tucson Shero!  I have seen Tucson rally so freakin' epically when beloveds are in need of support and I am SO PROUD of Tucson for this phenomenal tribe that we are and I love that we offer to one another abundantly and so wholeheartedly in time of need.

Thank you thank you thank you,
with gratitude and love,
Jade

Greetings Friends and Family of Kris and Jeff,

I hope these words find all of you healthy and happy. I am sending this email because our dear Kris is having a hard time right now. Emotionally, physically, and financially. A few weeks ago I accompanied Kris and Jeff to her oncologist to find out that there is, what they are now calling a complex cyst that they are tracking in her lower abdomen which had doubled in size since her last CT-scan. This was hard news to hear and obviously scary. Since the surgery in October her CA125 had been trending lower, but it is now slightly raised and still within the normal range. There are so many unknowns about what's going on, what this growth is, and what it means. But that it's stress inducing for Kris is an understatement. Funds have been very tight because the day-to-day of doing different cancer treatments Kris's time and energy is understandably limited for much else. The ability to rest, take proper nourishment, and exercise in addition to all this treatment is essential for her overcoming illness. Plus, most of us know that doing bodywork when we are not feeling well is very, very hard and an energetic draw away from deep healing. Both Kris and Jeff are extremely stressed about finances right now. They need help but are too humble to ask and feel like our community has already done SO much which we have, and yet I am asking for them, even if they object to me doing so cuz we are a generous Tribe.

Please share this if you feel inspired! Even if you cannot help right now, but know others that may be able to! Thank you for reading, and may we all be showered in health and love!

With love,
Jade

Dear friends!

SO excited to offer to those that love Kris and Jeff a SUPER SPECIAL opportunity to have a personal tour with scientist Buddy Martin at the Richard F. Caris Mirror Lab at the UofA, where they make the biggest mirrors in the world for some of the most powerful telescopes! Sunday April 28 at 2:00 pm, during the spin-casting of a 6.5 meter telescope mirror. If you haven’t seen a spin-casting, you don’t want to miss it. And if you have, you know it’s a very cool event that only happens every couple of years. Wee are suggesting a donation of $25 per adult through Kris’s gofundme page here. Buddy is limiting the tour to about 20 people and will do a second one at 4:00 pm if more want to come. Email martin.buddy@gmail.com to RSVP or for more info.

Much love,
Jade

Dearest Friends,

I am sitting here with Kris and she wanted to send her wholehearted and deepest thanks and give a quick update!

She is getting all of the tests this week; of all of her precious fluids, a special scan, even quantum assessments and treatments! Because of all of the tremendous support, her courage is ignited to relentlessly research the next piece of her total wellbeing. She is resisting the boogyman of cancer, and all of the fear that is thrown at her; and instead is facing the redirection of her daily lifestyle and best practices for healing on all of the many levels, not just cancer.

It's beautiful here in Kris and Jeff's living room right now, as you can see in the attached photo: a red and amber glow fills the room because this too, is a lifestyle shift. This is part of the leptin hormone and circadian rhythm reset, all in an effort to affect her metabolic condition, as cancer is a metabolic disease. Very soon, she will begin daily cold plunges in the outdoor bathtub to stimulate her immune system! Woo Hoo! Cowabunga!

As Kris likes to say, Bless Your Hearts!
Be Well,
Jade
