Support Impoverished Swazi Families and Orphans

Hi everyone! My name is Precious Amusan, I am a fourth year student of neuroscience at the University of Alberta. I will be taking a volunteer trip to Eswatini (Swaziland) this upcoming May. While there I will be volunteering at three sites with Pastor Carver Pop and his wife, Mrs Cynthia Pop.

The Pop family is involved with various humanitarian efforts through their school and church at various care points in Eswatini and throughout the Southern African region.

While there, I will be spending time at two care points and an orphanage.

a. The care point in Moneni:

This is a feeding center that deals primarily with distribution of food parcels and provides financial support to help pay the medical bills of those who otherwise cannot afford it.

b. The care point in Luve:

This care point is currently building a preschool for local children.

c. The Siteki Orphanage:

Many of the children at this orphanage have lost both of their parents to HIV/AIDs which is pandemic in the region. The orphanage is currently in need of financial assistance for things such as medication, toiletries and food for the children.

My passion for this volunteering work emanates from a natural connection with Eswatini (I was born in Manzini -Eswatini)
and my undergraduate research project  which focused on the Association between Antiretroviral Therapy and Neurocognitive performance in People Living with HIV/AIDS.

I am soliciting funds to provide support for these care points and the Orphanage. All the money donated will go directly to provide financial support at the Moneni and Luve care points, and to relieve the financial burden at the orphanage at Siteki.
