Expanding Your Horizons Chicago — Support Girls in STEM!
Expanding Your Horizons Chicago is a volunteer-run nonprofit that works to address the fact that women, especially women of color, are still underrepresented in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM). Each year, for the past seven years, we have organized a one-day conference where 250+ middle school girls attend hands-on workshops led by local women in STEM. Our goal is to provide positive role models and inspire girls to discover where their curiosity in STEM leads them.
We are currently raising money for our 2019 conference. This year, we are working to remove barriers to attending our event. We want to provide buses from Chicago’s South and West sides to make it easier to get to and from our conference, and have childcare options so that more EYH parents can attend our parent program!
To support these additions to our program, we are hoping to raise $3,000. Our campaign ends on February 11, 2019 -- the UN’s International Day of Women and Girls in Science, which you can read about here.
