I am a childhood friend of Toni's and trying to help her and her family financially while she heals from a health and medical emergency.
Toni had Bariatric Sleeve surgery on December 16th, 2019, performed for health reasons. In the surgery most of your stomach is removed to help with weight loss. The portion of the stomach that is not in use is stapled. Hers was not stapled properly and the contents ended up leaking and caused major life threatening infection in her stomach. She became very ill and was close to death.
She went to the hospital, they thought she had pnuemonia and found that the surgery was botched and she was near death. They had to put a feeding tube in and 2 drains in her stomach to clean the infection out.
She was in the hospital for a week and is home resting trying to get the infection cleaned out of her body. It's a very slow process and the infection is very toxic.
Cleaning the infection out could take months.
She has no short term disability and the time off is unpaid while she is off work.
Toni is the 1st person to help others when they are in need and it was my idea to do the gofundme for her.
This has caused havoc on her body and to heal she needs as little stress as possible. Please help if you can..
I believe prayers are the best.. If you can pray for her to be able to financially be blessed and to heal very quickly. Her family and friends need her!
