Support for Special Education Study

Zukhra Safarova is mother to a 12-year-old boy with Cerebral Palsy in Tajikistan.  Originally Zukhra trained and worked as a Doctor, however as a result of challenges in her family and the needs of her son in recent years she has dedicated herself to work that supports children with disabilities in Tajikistan.  Currently she is working in a special small class in one of the mainstream schools in Dushanbe and is involved in running support groups for parents of children with special needs.
 
Zukhra has been offered a scholarship to attend a course at MASHAV (Israel’s Agency for International Development Cooperation) on “Creative Thinking and Innovation in the field of Special Education”.  This will be a wonderful opportunity for her to receive training that is not available in her home country of Tajikistan and be better equipped for the work that she has dedicated herself to amongst children with special needs. 
 
In order to take up this opportunity for study Zukhra needs $930 AUD (for travel and visa related expenses).    As a woman with limited finances in Tajikistan she needs support in order to be able to travel and accept this opportunity to study further.  Please consider if you can support this dedicated woman and the children of Tajikistan that she in turn supports.
