Support for Ragini and Family

This campaign is for our beautiful, amazing, kind, and strong mom, Ragini.

She was diagnosed with stage 4 metastatic breast cancer after discovering a tumour in her right breast. 

After multiple tests and dozens of trips to Edmonton for chemotherapy, radiation and scans, it was determined that the type of cancer she was diagnosed with was aggressive and relentless, leading to an eventual spread to the stomach and brain. 

The last year has been an ongoing battle of weekly chemotherapy treatments, surgeries, medications and an abundant amount of emergency room visits.

There were not a lot of people who knew about the diagnosis and the battle my mom and our family have been dealing with. My mom was never the type to ask for help. She always cared more about the people around her, and was a light that people gravitated to. Her smile, laughter, and her positive outlook on life was admirable to those around her. It was a blessing to have her in our lives for as long as we did.

Unfortunately, on January of this year, we were sadly informed that nothing more could be done to help her condition and that she did not have much time left. The doctors decided to stop her treatment as the cancer had spread to various parts of her brain. She remains at the hospital for her final days surrounded by immediate family and friends.

This campaign was put together to help our family with the financial burden of upcoming funeral services, and to fulfill her last wish of bringing her back home to Mauritius.

We are a small family and started this campaign in hopes that it will help to try and remove, or at least lessen the impact from this financial burden and help us spend less time worrying about money and allow us the time to spend with our mom through this difficult time.

We also want to take the time to bring awareness about Breast Cancer and how it can affect anyone even the people you do not expect.
