Support for Lauretta Villarreal

Please Help!  Everyone with children will understand the shock and horror of receiving a call that your 25-year-old child, friend, girlfriend is on the way to the emergency room, unresponsive.  On July 11th, we received this call.  Lauretta called  Tyler, crying over what she described as the worst headache she had ever experienced.  During the call which lasted only a matter of minutes, it was clear that something was seriously wrong.  After racing home Tyler found Lauretta screaming incoherently, saying she in pain, sick and blind.  The ambulance was on the way, but soon after she collapsed and was unresponsive when the ambulance arrived.

Lauretta was quickly transported to North Memorial Hospital in Minnesota.  Lauretta’s parents and brother raced to the hospital, living every parent’s worst nightmare.  Shortly after arriving, Lauretta was diagnosed as having a Hemorrhagic Stroke and quickly moved to an operating suite for a 7 hour surgery with one of the top brain surgeons in the state of Minnesota.

Lauretta beat the odds by making it to the hospital, beat the odds by making it through surgery and now is in Critical Condition in ICU in a drug induced coma struggling for her life, surrounded by her family and friends, praying for her recovery.

Lauretta is a true caregiver spending her young life working three separate jobs to provide care for people with physical and mental disabilities.  Lauretta is the light that brings people together and the center of the universe to her parents, brother and family.  She loves to travel, playing with her dogs and spending time with family and friends.  Lauretta wakes up every morning with a smile on her face and is always there as a friend and confidant to anyone who needs her.  She is the a truly remarkable person.

The world is a better place with Lauretta, she is young, strong and a fighter.  We are not giving up and will do anything possible to help her survive.  Lauretta does not have good insurance and the bills are piling up fast, continued care and therapy once she comes out of the coma will be far more than her insurance or family will be able to cover.

Please consider helping with your donation.  ALL proceeds will go directly to the care of Lauretta.
