Support for Kenzie and Joe

The night of Friday December 13th, Joe was in the backyard enjoying a fire with a friend. Kenzie was inside and heard a loud bang of some sort. Somehow Joe had caught on fire on his left arm and then collided with a gas can (we think)  and his chest, neck and face caught on fire. We’re unsure of the exact situation that happened since he’s been unable to talk and has been  heavily sedated most of the time. He was taken to KMC by ambulance and then flown to Seattle and thankfully Kenzie was able to go with him. He’s got a breathing tube in and is currently on oxygen. Working toward getting that out, getting all the swelling down and waiting to find out what treatment looks like. It is really just a one hour at a time thing right now. Our main concern is just getting him better and home when we can. But this will be a long road. 

While Joe is in the hospital in Seattle, Kenzie will be staying by his side. We are unsure of how long he will need to be there right now but with Joe unable to work for a while even after they return home, this is going to be hard financially. We don’t know how much insurance will cover but we are preparing for a lot to not be covered just in case. They also have their house payment and such of course. 

Any donations will go to help kenzie with food, travel if needed and payments for their home or whatever bills they have including the medical bills. We all appreciate you helping them no matter the amount. This has been heartbreaking and we just want to lighten the load of everything for them both.
