Support for Jan Davis Fund

In late November 2018, Jan Davis (mid 40’s, single mother), was diagnosed with advanced Lung Cancer. Jan has never smoked a single day in her life and has not been exposed to asbestos, so this diagnosis was a shock to her, her friends and our entire family. The doctors even express surprise because there was no indication of any issue until she went to the hospital for what was previously diagnosed as pneumonia.
In the last few weeks, she has had multiple MRI’s, CAT scans, X-rays and a PET scan. We have been in the beginning stages of finding out about her condition, but with each test, more cancer has been found in multiple locations. But the greatest concern now is a tumor on her brain and lesions on her spine. With each day and each tumor revealed, they have gone from chemo for the lungs being the priority to radiation for the brain and spine.
The financial burden ahead of her is daunting and will require support from loved ones, friends, acquaintances, congregations and people who truly want to help and bless Jan through this difficult time. We cannot stress enough the urgency of Jan’s need for financial support…immediately.
Jan is currently on a private Insurance program (not through an employer) that may not be capable or willing to support her long term. This creates an even more desperate need for us to all come together and support Jan through this.
We have many initiatives in motion around the country to get the word out, tell Jan’s story and to fund raise for Jan and her 12 year old son, Ethan. This is an incredibly difficult time for her and Ethan and it’s our time to show our love for them both.
For those of you reading this that have not had the pleasure of meeting or knowing Jan, I’m going to tell you a little about her.
Jan is a committed and faithful follower of Jesus Christ and has dedicated her life to knowing God more, trusting God more and sharing God’s love with everyone who would listen. She has shared His Love more through her actions than with her words. She always thought of herself LAST and put other people and their needs FIRST. She wasn’t just someone who would say “I’ll pray for you”…she would take action to help that person with what she could and as she felt led by the Spirit of God. She would always say, “God, teach me patience. Teach me how to show Your Love to everyone I come in contact with. God, I need some inspiration right now…(then she would sit quietly and patiently and listen).” This is the type of person Jan is. She is one that people call a FRIEND of GOD. People seek her out to get her insight, feedback and encouragement. Jan is always the happiest when she is able to bless someone, especially when she can get away with doing it anonymously…she really loves that!!! Her reason is because “GOD GETS ALL THE CREDIT WHEN YOU DO IT ANONYMOUSLY”. She was the first one to change her plans to help someone in need, especially family. We have never known anyone like her or seen someone with such unwavering faith. She said to us after her diagnosis, “Well, God has a plan and I’m excited to see what it is because it’ll be perfect”.
We MUST support Jan the way she has supported all of us (whether she knows the person or not). On January 2, 2019, Jan passed away. We are continuing to accept funds on Jan’s behalf to help pay off medical bills and funeral expenses. Her brother, Robert Stauffer has been set up to manage the funds and pay bills. All donations are solely being used to help With Jan’s expenses.
