Support for Elena Dimitrova

Elena is a beautiful person inside and out and an incredible mom. Much to our dismay and shock, she has been diagnosed with stomach cancer a week ago.

Elena discovered the alarming news of cancer while in the ER at a local hospital on July 14, 2020, for severe abdominal pain and vomiting, two weeks after giving birth to her beautiful daughter. This news is devastating to her husband and her 4-year-old son, who is still completely unaware of why his mom is still at the hospital.

Elena and her family have a long and difficult journey ahead of them. As she embarks on the upcoming months of surgeries, chemotherapy treatments, and more, she needs the support of her community, friends, and family around the world.

I just wanted to add something else, heartbreaking and sad to the story. Elena has been poked, tested, scanned and was on over dozen medications over the last 1 month. She had to endure PET scan, CAT scan, stenographic scans , blood tests and other tests and scans I cannot even remember or pronounce. She hasn't taken solid food or even liquids for over a month now. Because of the location of the cancer, she is attached 24 hours to TPN nutrition bags pushing their content directly to her veins and another device, suction gastric pump that sucks the contents of her stomach through a tube coming out of her nose and going all the way to her stomach, for over a week now. She doesn't have a single intact vein on both her arms from all the needles.  She has to sleep, if you could call that sleeping in half standing position, so the gastric suction pump and the TPN bags can work at night. The tube in her nose and throat, going all the way in her stomach has been in her for 10 days now and will be there for another 2 weeks is causing constant severe pain, she cannot even talk for longer than couple minutes. The doctors in the hospital said most people cannot tolerate it for more than a few minutes, i was there when they said it. It is hard for her to even hug and kiss her kids with all the tubes and hoses and attachments all over her. She has lost over 25 pounds over the last month and a half. 

She has never complained about anything , not even once. She just endures it , with such strength and courage and determination, with the sheer will to survive all this and live for her kids. for her family. She is a wonderful person, with such a beautiful soul, so strong and proud and full of grace , such a nobility of spirit. A true warrior, an amazing wife and mother, if only this world had more like her, it would be such a better place. She is a true inspiration.
