This is the official fundraiser for Cervantes Magana, organized and managed by his family.
On June 15th, while riding home on his motorcycle at around 3am, our funny, sweet, passionate, giving, creative Cervantes was struck by a teen driver who ran a red light. Cervantes has sustained serious and life-threatening injuries that have left him unconscious and on life support. He will need continuous care for the next 6-12 months and due to the severity and type of his brain injury, we will not know what his outcome will be for quite some time.
Cervantes has one of the biggest hearts of anyone most of us know, and he always wore it on his sleeve. He'd do anything for his family and his community. He'd give a stranger the shirt off his back and his last $5. As a cyclist, he'd bike 75 miles just to see a friend's new dog. As a bar consultant and creative director, he'd work overtime to make sure his vision was executed just perfectly because he wanted to give people the best experience ever. As a musician, he'd spend 3 weeks perfecting a playlist that would make people dance their pants off for 3 hours.
Cervantes needs your support to make it through this. The road ahead is long and winding, and the financial costs of his care will be more than he or his family can handle. We are asking you all to please donate, as much or as little as you can, to help sustain the cost of Cervantes's care and let his light continue to shine.
I know many of you would like to visit Cervantes. He's still in the ICU in critical condition so it's preferred that you wait until he moves to long term care, however, some of you were like family to him and for those who were, please reach out to Mely , his best friend, or Lainya , his sister, on Facebook and we'll see what we can accommodate.
