Support FIRST Robotics 5115 Wheaton Knight Riders!

$2,860 of $3,000 goal

Raised by 35 people in 2 months
We are the FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC) team at Wheaton High School located in Silver Spring, MD.

Our team won three district tournament victories in the past three years. We need financial help to win another one. Please help us raise the $3,000 we need for robot fabrication, materials, tools & tournament fees.

Building such a complex robot for tournament competition is not easy and we can’t do it without donors like you.

Your contribution allows us to compete at the highest level. Each year, our team designs and builds a robot that must be able to operate autonomously, respond to an operator’s commands, and perform a wide variety of mechanical functions. We use critical thinking, collaboration, project management, computer-aided design, manufacturing, and other technical skills. We are also learning financial management, public relations, web design, graphic design, and administration.

No donation is too small! We appreciate all donations and support given to us. All donors will be recognized on a section of our website: www.wheatonrobotics.org/.  Donations of $100 or more include sponsorship benefits.

Help to spread the word! Share this campaign! Thank you!

Thank you for supporting our robotics team! The Wheaton Knight Riders, FRC Team 5115 competed in our last competition of the 2019 season at Oxon Hill High School on March 22-24. Although we are disappointed that we did not come home with a blue banner or go on to the District Championships, we celebrate all our fellow FRC teams who found success and met the challenges of the competition this past weekend.

Because of your support we were able to compete and learn this season. We are immensely proud of our hard work and constant improvement from the January game-reveal through our final competition. The team worked tirelessly between matches to fix issues including autonomous control of the robot and its arm, our robot's climbing mechanism and multiple smaller problems. Our drivers made incredible improvements in each match, all under the real pressure of competition.

Our hard work did not go unnoticed by other teams, and a sincere thank you goes out to Team 3650 and Team 116 for asking us to join their alliance during the playoff round at Oxon Hill. Our team co-captain Viruni was selected as one of 11 semi-finalists for the prestigious nationwide Dean’s List Award.

We had a relatively young team this year, with many team members learning their specialties while also performing leadership roles. Given our youth and lack of experience, we were able to accomplish a surprising amount. The excitement for the next season is already building. We can’t wait to work harder and dig into the next game challenge!
