Support Entrepreneurship Club
The Syracuse University Entrepreneurship Club has seen massive growth in the past year, totaling over 200 members. We were recently awarded #1 for Outstanding Leadership out of a network of over 250 entrepreneurship clubs across the country.
2 days following the award, our jaws dropped when we heard the news of being completely rejected from all funding from Student Association, and were granted a small sum of $100 to survive on for the entire Spring Semester by Whitman School of Management.
There was a technicality which resulted in the rejection of funds from SA, and there was no judicial system in place to recover from the error. In addition, with over half the leadership team as students outside of Whitman, it became apparent there is bias within Whitman.
WHO HAS EVER SAID YOU HAVE TO BE A BUSINESS STUDENT TO BE AN ENTREPRENEUR?!
We are students. We don't get paid. We just want the opportunity to build a community of entrepreneurs, no matter who you are or what your story is.
Our goal is to raise $2,500 in funding, with which we are looking to bring in speakers, create more events and programming on campus, and travel to collegiate conferences.
Whitman has given me, Sarah Grosz, the proudest moment of my life: seeing over 300 students fill the biggest auditorium for our first meeting this semester. I care tremendously about each and every member, and will always be the first supporter of any initiative, inside or outside of the club. This is the community I'm so passionate about, proud of, and joyfully spent so much energy building up for the past 2 and a half years.
Please take a moment to donate and share this campaign, it means the world to me.
Sarah Grosz, Entrepreneurship Club President and Student of the iSchool
After a difficult meeting with a few decision makers from School decision makers, they suggested the best solution would be to cut down on speakers, events, and activities so the club can move forward without additional funding.
The issue is that I’m a hungry entrepreneur, working with 200 other hungry entrepreneurs. “No” is just not an option!
Please continue to ask your friends to share and donate to this campaign, every dollar goes a thousand miles :)
