Support Emily Nolen's recovery from brain surgery

On April 25, my sister, Emily Brown Nolen headed to the ER to get relief from what she thought was a severe migraine. After a series of tests, she was shocked to discover that she had a large ruptured aneurysm. Because of the size and location of the aneurysm, the local hospital opted to airlift her to Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis. There, they found the rupture to be larger than expected and performed an emergency craniotomy to clip the aneurysm and stop the bleed. This could have been a tragedy for Emily and her family but thankfully, the surgery was a success. Miraculously, after only a week in ICU, she was released from the hospital to continue her recovery at home.


Emily recently campaigned for a job within her field and had worked less than 2 weeks at her new job when her aneurysm ruptured. There was no time to plan ahead for recovery, to save for upcoming bills, or to make a plan of action for the unknown healing time.


Emily is mom to Jack, a charming, active, smart and strong-willed, nine year old. She is a devoted and loving mother. She is fortunate to be loved and adored by her wonderful boyfriend, Ben,  who has been by her side throughout this ordeal.


Although she is determined to return to her job as quickly as possible, Emily will be unable to work for at least several weeks, resulting in an inability to pay for needed medication and household expenses. Emily needs to raise $6,000.00 to cover the mounting bills and cost of medication not covered by insurance.
