Darin is a Taney county deputy sheriff who was shot on duty. He is a husband to Julie Carter and a Dad to three children. The incident was on September 16th. Darin was shot in the shoulder and underwent surgery for a large fracture to his humerus bone. He has permanent hardware on his arm and shoulder now. He deals with pain daily not only from the fracture but also bullet shrapnel in his chest. He is back to light duty but will not be able to return to uniform till sometime next year. The other negative aspect is the 2/3's of his pay for nearly two months now. He would like to see new legislation on this issue for public safety personal injured in the line of duty.

There is a benefit at Missouri Ridge Distillery (Branson) on December 3rd from 5-10pm. If you cannot make the benefit this is a great way to still help.

Darin was shot and then left to struggle financially. This should never happen to someone in his position. I believe it is our job as a community to make sure his family is not in need during this difficult transition.
