On Monday, January 14th, Tim Jensen collapsed at work. His coworkers rushed him to the hospital in St. Cloud where it was determined that Tim had a stroke. Upon emergency surgery, the doctors discovered that Tim’s brain was pooling with a mixture of blood and cerebral spinal fluid. A brain surgeon was called in to place two “brain-drains” in Tim’s head that evening.
Since the drains were placed, Tim has been under one-to-one watch by medical professionals in the ICU at the St. Cloud Hospital. They have been running a series of tests and scans to try to determine the cause of his continuous brain bleed but have yet to find answers. At this time, Tim is projected to be in the ICU from 2-4 weeks, with a recovery period of 4-6 months after being discharged.
During this time, Tim’s adult children, Paige (MN) and Chris (WY), are taking on all of Tim’s financial responsibilities as well as caring for Tim’s two teenaged sons with special needs. We have determined that $15,000 is a light estimate of what will be needed to cover all of Tim’s expenses while he is being hospitalized and in recovery.
From 22+ years of investing in his community’s youth through coaching softball, basketball and football, to his time serving the public sector through sitting on the Fergus Falls City Council, Tim has become known as a valuable asset to each community he has been a part of.
The urgency behind this GoFundMe is that many of Tim’s monthly bills are coming up at the beginning of February, and though we were able to secure some deferred billing dates, many deadlines were not able to be extended. If you have been one of the countless individuals impacted by Tim and his leadership, we ask that you consider contributing to this campaign. If a financial gift is not currently within your means, we ask that you pray fervently for the recovery of this pillar in the Jensen family and share this campaign with others.
