Robbinsdale Clinic is a small, independently owned Family Medicine clinic which has included abortion services as part of their family-centered care since 1973. A member of both the National Abortion Federation and Abortion Care Network, Robbinsdale Clinic P.A. provides high-quality, safe abortion care and is staffed by committed, knowledgeable and passionate employees. We are one of only four abortion providers in Minnesota (three in the metro area), and we need your help to continue to serve the community.
Though abortion and family planning have become associated mainly with large organizations, the majority of women (roughly 2 out of 3) who have abortions in the United States access their care at an independent abortion provider. Times are tough for all abortion providers but independently owned small practices face unique challenges, financial and otherwise.++
Robbinsdale Clinic has faced extra challenges in recent years due to the following:
--Radical and aggressive anti-choice protestors who harass our patients and our staff. These protestors built a DEER STAND (which can be seen in the main photo and below) on the property next door which was bought by an anti-choice organization. The DEER STAND rises over our property's fence and is utilized to harass, scare, and intimidate both patients and clinic staff.

--Crisis pregnancy centers (CPCs) such as the one directly across the street, the "Robbinsdale Women's Center", are a disservice to women and a public health problem across the country. Using false information rather than scientific, evidence-based practices, CPCs manipulate and lie to women who are seeking unbiased pregnancy options counseling or abortion services. CPC's are typically affiliated with evangelical Christian networks and/or national antiabortion organizations. It's therefore not surprising that, unlike Robbinsdale Clinic which offers each patient accurate contraceptive counseling, CPC's do not provide accurate information on contraceptive use and effectiveness.^^
Many of these fake clinics are intentionally located in close proximity to real abortion providers and mimic their branding and names. It's easy to understand how a woman intending to go to Robbinsdale Clinic might accidentally go to the Robbinsdale Women's Center!
Robbinsdale Clinic P.A. has long been a target for the radical anti-choice movement, which has resulted in attempted bombings and other severe/violent attempts to shut us down (see NYT article below). These anti-choice attempts to shut us down have been costly for the clinic. Nevertheless, we've persisted because access to abortion care is essential to ensure women's right to health.
As a small clinic without the name recognition, significant patronage and advertising means of a large provider, we are asking for donations of any amount to help us continue to serve our community. Your donations will go directly to necessary clinic improvements and projects ranging from building a new fence for the privacy and safety of our patients, a new sign (to help patients more easily recognize us, rather than the CPC) and the redevelopment of our website.
