Carissa's battle is continuing and we need your help now more than ever!
So many of you have been keeping tabs on Carissa and her treatment over the past year. And we cannot thank you enough for all your continued love, prayers, support, and encouragement. However, we need to ask for your help one more time.
Carissa is finally in remission! But that means we are jumping into the transplant in two weeks. For those of you that don't know, Carissa's cancer is considered extremely aggressive. It took 4 different chemo's and a transplant to get her into remission. This transplant gives her the best chance at long term survival. They believe that if it were to come back, it would be terminal. So she is continuing to fight for her life and her family.
So far, we have been a little disappointed in preparing for this. It is a requirement of the transplant that she lives in Seattle, and that we should prepare for 120 days. There are a lot of risks involved with this treatment plan and they need her close to monitor her and stay on top of her care. There is going to be tests, scans, blood work, the transplant, and the list goes on. We found out this week that insurance is not going to be covering some of her expenses, including medical and her living expenses to be in Seattle.
With the adjustment that Jarred, the boys, and our families are going to go through with taking care of their family, their home, and Carissa needing a care giver 24/7, we want to take some of this hardship off of their family. They need to focus on her getting healthy and home, not the expenses of this treatment that gives her the best chance at long term survival.
