Please help us (Katja & Trang) support Cooper, who was abandoned at a veterinarian's office after being adopted from a public shelter!
Cooper is an awesome dog: a smiley, big-headed 5-year-old Mastiff and pit bull mix. He spent the entire summer--from June to September--in a tiny cage at a high kill shelter in the Los Angeles area. Volunteers were so excited when he was finally adopted!
Sadly, Cooper's adopter was a college student who isn't even allowed to have dogs where he lives. THREE HOURS after adopting Cooper, he abandoned him at a local vet's office.
That vet reached out to us to ask for help. We are shelter volunteers who especially love the bully breeds. So we became guardians for Cooper.
Cooper's body shows the evidence of a lifetime of neglect: he is covered with smaller masses, his ears are filled with scar tissue from untreated hematomas, he was not neutered, he has a small but visible hernia, his kidneys are damaged from what our vet assumes was a major infection he once had that was left untreated, and he has sigificant hip dysplasia with muscle atrophy made worse by almost six months of kenneling.
We need help to pay for Cooper's veterinary and boarding bills. We also need funds to support his continued care. Cooper has no foster home and no rescue backing. Cooper is a genuinely good dog. He loves to be with people more than anything else. He is mellow and goofy. We want him to have a chance at finding a family of his own that will love and care for him the way he should be. Please help us make that possible.

Your donation of $50 helps pay for a kidney function test he currently needs weekly while his kidneys regain full function (which our vet believes they will!)

Your donation of $200 helps pay for x-rays of Cooper's hips.
Your donation of $500 helps pay for surgery to remove and biopsy Cooper's lumps and bumps.
All funds are administered by Katja and Trang, shelter volunteers with extensive experience working with bully breeds. Alas, we are not a rescue and while some of our rescue friends are helping us out in various ways, we can't do this alone. We need your help!
