My name is Victoria Maltsev. I’m raising funds for my daughter, Danielle Maltsev.
About two months ago she woke up, took a shower, and was getting ready to go to work as she felt something was wrong with her hearing.
Her favorite music was playing in a background, which she could not hear anymore.
She was under impression that water went inside of the ear when she was taking a shower, and that was the reason she could not hear anything. Than she thought it was an ear infection, and took antibiotics.
When the antibiotics didn’t help, I took her to emergency room at the hospital, where doctor gave us referral to see a specialist.
After numerous ENT and Neurotologist visits at Kaiser and Cedars- Sinai, she was diagnosed with left sudden hearing loss also known as sudden deafness. The resent test showed that the hearing ability of the right ear has deteriorated more than it was during the previous audiology tests, and it’s now only 30% remaining. She lost the clarity and has a muffled hearing. Cells inside Danielle’s right ear have to be stimulated so the hearing level will not decrease dramatically. We still have a hope that her hearing will come back, and we need to do everything possible right now.
Her medical expenses – that is the doctor’s consultations, audiology tests, MRIs with contrast, steroid therapies, and shots in the ear drums – exceeded our monthly income.
Doctor recommended her for Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy for Sudden Hearing Loss. It may require 30 to 40 treatments and the cost is $250-$450 per session depending on the location of services and provider. In addition, she needs a Bicros hearing aids, and insurance providers do not cover the cost. Without hearing aids she can no longer continue studying or go to work.
When I was hoping to get extra money, and work for Postmates and DoorDash, delivering food to the customers, I was a victim of the big scam. They took all the money, and I was never reimbursed.
I never ask anything from anyone, and donated to all kind of organizations, but this time I’m struggling with hospital bills.
I feel very embarrassed, but she desperately need help at this time.
