Sundays with Itchy IN ISRAEL

Donation protected
His given name is Issie. You know him as Harvey. Most; then & now call him Itchy. There were times they called him "The Senator" even, candy bar but, to me, he will always be daddy. I can't begin to tell you how much love and respect I harbour for this man. The admiration given to him time after time by his peers in the garment industry sometimes seemed endless. Growing up it always amazed me how people would stop me on the street just to tell me how great my father was as a salesman. How he would always make a grand entrance and liven up the biggest of warehouses.  WHY? who knows?
I know there are endless dads out there who have the exact same qualities as mine. Hard working loving husband and father but, I'm sure there are very few who can honestly say that no matter what was going on in his life; at the time, he did his very best to raise his family with only the best intentions he saw fit. Worked two jobs for the better half of 40 years . Five days a week he was up at 7am... out of the house by 8 and, most days,  wouldn't get home 'till past 9pm.  Saturdays he'd work a half day, 9-5. Sundays was my favorite day of the week for obvious reasons. 'Till this very day one thing that ALWAYS blew me away was how he kept a positive attitude no matter how bad things got.
When I was 13 he had a non malignant tumor removed from his lung. 6 years ago he had non-hodgkin's lymphoma cancer. Went through multiple sessions of chemotherapy. Lost a ton  of weight. His hair ...GONE but, worst of all,  was too see how extremely weak he got Months went by and, by the grace of god and "his positive attitude" he beat it and got better. Good as new.
He is now eighty yers old and the #&%^ cancer is back. I can't stand to watch the man suffer. It literally breaks my heart. He's presently going through the CHEMO and it's as bad as ever.
My father is a VERY proud man. Never asks  anything from anybody. I am my fathers son. I have given him too many reasons to disown me let alone be disappointed. His one wish in life is to go to Israel. I will take him. I would love nothing more than to fulfill his dream and join him on his trip of a lifetime.
