Summer Theatre for young adults in Durango, CO

Fort Lewis College students Hallie Denman and Harrison Wendt have started the non-profit Animas Rooted Theatre Company, or ART Co. Our mission is to provide theatrical opportunities to young adults, specifically Fort Lewis Students or recent graduates, during a season that has limited opportunities for performers. Our plan is to put on a summer musical during the month of July on the Fort Lewis College campus.
The funds we are looking to gather are for all production costs:
-Materials and Rights to the Musical (approximately $3500)
-Artistic team: This will include funds to pay our director, a professional in the community, and our stage manager, a recent FLC graduate (approximately $2500)
-Set (approximately $500)
-Costumes (approximately $300)
-Marketing (approximately $800)
We are hoping to collect funds no later than June 1st. Although this may not be realistic, we know that it takes a village to build a Theatre Company.
Allocating these funds would mean the world to not only Hallie and Harrison, but for a community that desperately needs more theatre, especially in the summer months. This would help young performers/artists in the community express themselves through an art form they love, study, and dedicate a large portion of their lives to.
To show our support and sincere gratitude for your donations, we are offering the following based on donations:
$10-$50: Your name on the donor list in the program!
$50-$100: Your name on the donor list in the program, and two free tickets to the show!
$100-$250: Your name on the donor list in the program, four free tickets to the show, and an opportunity to be an involved audience member during one of our performances!
$250-$500: Your name on the donor list in the program, six free tickets to the show, and an opportunity for you and one other person to be an involved audience member during one of our performances!
$500-$1000: Your name on the donor list in the program, eight free tickets to the show, an opportunity for you and two other persons to be an involved audience member during one of our performances, and a named individual sponsor of Animas Rooted Theatre Company!
$1000 and above: WOAH! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! You can have everything above and then some!
Putting on a musical from the ground up will provide these young artists real-world experience in preparation for their future dream jobs in theater, music, arts administration and public education.
Overall, your support would mean the world to us and our small Non-Profit Theatre Company. We are a creative, dedicated, and hard-working team. Your support would go a long way to keep our mission alive!
