Summer Mission Trip to Ukraine 2018

Dear Family and Friends
This June I am going on a mission trip to Ukraine. The trip is sponsored by the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the USA. The trip will take place from June 3 – June 19, 2018. We will be visiting two orphanages that were adopted by the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of USA. They are in the cities of Puhachiv and Znamyanka. The children that live at these orphanages are living with the aftereffects of the Chornobyl Nuclear Accident of 1986.
Christ tells us “Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brethren, you did it to me...for I was hungry and you gave me no food, I was thirsty and you gave me no drink, I was a stranger and you did not welcome me, naked and you did not clothe me, sick and in prison and you did not visit me.” The children in these two orphanages are truly the brethren of which Christ speaks, the least, the most in need. They suffer from cancer, genetic birth defects and complications, heart anomalies and immune deficiencies perpetuated by the Chornobyl disaster. Each orphanage houses between 100 – 140 children at any given time.
While there the mission team will be able to do the following for the children:
Assist in massage therapy for the children
Daily walks with the children in wheel chairs
Repairs, construction and painting of murals at the orphanage
Catechetical work with the children
I would appreciate your prayers and support as I go on this trip. This will be a life changing experience and having your support will make it a success. Please prayerfully consider how you may possibly support me in this humble attempt to serve our Lord and His children. The cost for the trip is $2700.00 plus additional travel costs to and from South Bound Brook, NJ. Cost includes airfare, travel within Ukraine, food, housing, and materials for the orphanages. If you are unable to help me financially, please keep the team and me in your prayers.

Specific Prayer requests are:
1. I would remain focused and I would draw closer to God in my mission preparations.
2. Christian brotherhood and unity between the team members.
3. To remain healthy and for protection.
4. For the orphans, that they may receive the Grace of our Lord and comfort.
5. For the staff at the orphanages to continue their effort on behalf of the children.
