Hi! I'm Joseph, and I'm an orchestral conductor. I've been a musician since childhood, a conductor since the age of 18, and music is both my passion and my career.
I've just been accepted into a wonderful conducting program in Manchester, England, which will take place at the end of July, 2018. I'll have the opportunity to work with the internationally renowned maestro Benjamin Zander, and will be conducting some of my absolute favorite repertoire--symphonies by Beethoven, Brahms, and Tchaikovsky.
Building a conducting career takes a lot of hard work, along with talent, luck, and good timing. The path is often anything but linear, and persistence and perseverance are essential. Some of my career highlights to this point include a fellowship to the Aspen music festival, serving as apprentice conductor with the New York Youth Symphony, assistant with the National Music Festival and Gulf Coast Symphony, and appearing as a guest conductor in Russia. I've also organized several concerts for charity, raising money for such causes as disaster relief in Haiti and Nepal.
Your donations will help me cover my expenses for this course. Expenses will include:
