...aaaand we bought the Marlin submersible for the Community Submersibles Project! We are heading out to Florida next week to truck it home, stopping along the way to make new friends, visit existing ones, and hang with friendly institutions!
We have a filmmaker on board and we will be documenting our shenanigans and misadventures and triumphs and flat tires to share with everyone. Our budget for the submersible is entirely allocated to repairs and restoration, and all of us are taking time off of work and paying our own way (about $600 each times the 4 of us!) so that we can introduce this project to a cross-section of America and eventually the whole world!
If you feel inspired to do so, please chip in a few bucks to help us cover our on-the-road expenses. All donors will receive a blooper reel at the end of the trip that will probably be of a quality and character that will keep any of us from ever running for president :)
