Studying ayurveda to promote health and happiness

Hi change makers !

My name is Manon. I am french.

Let me tell you (quickly) about my background.

Since I was a child I've wanted to help  people feel better and to make their lives easier.

"As a grown up, I'll be a doctor !"  I decided

Thats why, after high school, I naturally applied in medical school in France.
I passed the first tough year and got selected out of 1000 people to continue studying medicine.
I already knew that medical drugs were not the best way to treat people.

During the second and third year, I dedicated most of my time to studying modern medicine and thought "this cannot be it".
Nobody taught me how to be healthy, how to stimulate the immune system and how to be happy.

Just before the final exam of the third year, I made a decision.

I'm going to finish this exam and take a year off to study ayurveda.

Ayurveda is an ancestral medicine rooted in India that has studied the body the mind and the soul for more than 3 thousand years !

"Ayu" which means life in sanskrit
            "Veda" which means knowledge

The vedas are very ancient texts that describes the vedic sciences (ayurvedic medicine, yoga, spirituality, astrology...).

I started my ayurveda training in Paris at a small private school that I paid for myself by taking a part time job. Everything I learned was blowing my mind ! "Modern medicine doesn't know anything about being healthy" I thought.

Don't get me wrong, I'm highly grateful for all the things I learnt in medical school. I'm still passionate about physiology and anatomy !
But modern medicine studies mostly illness, not health.

After this first year, I had to decide : go back to medical school and study in hospitals for 6 more years OR dedicate my time to ancestral medicines and share that knowledge.

The decision wasn't easy but I decided to quit medical school and focus on ayurveda and other ancestral sciences.

Last summer, I finished a 3 years program in Paris and started sharing what I know on my website and social media.

--> So, why more training ??

During those 3 years, I had approximately  800 hours of class with an ayurvedic practitioner. This is very little !
In India, people study Ayurveda full time for 5 years with many different teachers and a lot of practice !
This doesn't exist in France.

Being a good practitioner means a lot to me and in order to be one, I intend to continue studying this ancestral medicine at the California college of Ayurveda which has been created about 25 years ago.

I also plan to travel to India in order to practice with different doctors.

Your donation would allow me to deepen my knowledge and focus on practice by doing practical traineeships, buying books and continuing learning everyday !

My goal would also be to share my experience in videos demonstrating Ayurveda and to guide people who would like to study this ancestral medicine.

I hope this project inspires you !

Please feel free to reach out to me if you have any question !

Thank you a lot for your time and generosity.

Namaste (I see the light in you that is like the light in me)
