Sierra's Med. Study Abroad in Chile

Hi all! My name is Sierra Viands and I currently attend West Virginia University as a freshman for my undergraduate years. I'm pursuing a major in Exercise Physiology in the School of Medicine with a minor in Child Development and Family Studies while currently holding a 4.0 GPA.
Being the first generation of my family to attend a university, I am a little tight on money as I am paying for my education by myself. I have numerous academic scholarships that I am extremely thankful for to put me through school and plan to work as a Resident Assistant the next three years in order to pay for housing and meals during my tenure at WVU.
I have always loved the idea of traveling, but have never had the chance to experience another way of life. An opportunity through Ecela has become available for me to attend a 9-week course from May 21, 2017 to July 22, 2017 that provides: Spanish classes that focus on medical vocabulary through the University of Bolivariana in Santiago, Chile and also a medical shadowing program in Vina del Mar, Chile.
I am overjoyed to be accepted in such a prestigious program that will fully immerse me into the Spanish culture's language, healthcare, and relationships that I hope to make with people in another country and hemisphere! It also gives me an experience I know I will never forget and give me insight to be able to communicate and help the underserved Spanish populations around the world.
I hope that you all can help me start my journey a dollar at a time! I appreciate the time you took to read a little bit about me and no small amount is taken for granted!
Gracias,
Sierra
